Meet Dalia Finestein, who launched Made by Dalia after emigrating to Israel in 2020. Born and raised in Manchester, U.K., Dalia is an immigrant success story. She began creating home decor as a hobby while learning Hebrew in ulpan, but it wasn’t long before her classmates requested to purchase her work. After local design stores expressed interest in stocking her products, Dalia decided to create full time, continuing to draw inspiration from Israel’s diverse natural landscapes, using the colors and materials, such as seashells and marble, in her eco-friendly products. Everything — from the silicone molds to crafting each piece — is made completely by hand.

Since the war began, Dalia felt a deep shift in how she approached her work. People’s needs were changing — they were looking for more than just beautiful items; they wanted something that spoke to their desire for connection, tradition, and resilience. In response, she began creating contemporary Judaica pieces, like Shabbat candle holders, to not only reflect these values but to bring a sense of hope and light in dark times.

“The war made me realize how much we all need to lean into our Jewish identity,” she shared. “It’s been inspiring to witness the strength and solidarity of Jews in Israel and around the world.”

Hanukkah is Dalia’s favorite holiday, and she grew up visiting Eilat on Chanukah each year. “I would love going around and seeing everyone lighting candles and handing out sufganiyot on the street,” she shared. We hope that Made by Dalia’s creations will bring the same wide-eyed magic to your holiday.
